possible ranger stance bug??
I loved GW-EN except the HoM sucked just having pvp titles and not displaying all of your mini pets
However, I decided to play my main character in GW-EN - my ranger, the character that I used to first complete each campaign.
I use a lot of stances and I have griped elsewhere on guru about the changes in balance that have rendered their usage borderline pointless (too much energy for such a short space of time). I had my suspicions through fighting in GW-EN but did not really confirm them until I was fighting the glacial griffon that the stances such as lightning reflexes and whirling defence were having absolutely no effect. Furthermore, dirt blinding (either by throw dirt or by dust trap) were not working either.
Now either the glacial griffon and its spirits were extremely lucky to land hits every single time or the 75% chance of missing was not working. I tried a few builds to try and defeat it. After trying my standard turtle build (not knowing the griffon was a rit the first time), then trapping, I decided on a poison turtle interupter - so I interupted all of the griffon's skills except rit-lord (which was too fast to interupt) while poisoning the griffon - I then aimed to use WD and LR to tank the griffon while interupting and keeping the apply poison up.
BUT the griffon landed every single hit - these were not skill hits but normal hits - proving that my stances were useless in GW-EN and this was every single time I used stances to fight it. As stated, I suspected this to be true from fighting other creatures but could not quite make out whether it was my stances or their choice of skills that were landing the hits - but the griffon had nothing that would have by-passed my stances - no wild blow, expose defences, cast spells etc.
Nym
p.s. I eventually killed it by using my secondary as a necro with life transfer, life siphon, apply poison, and screaming shot with toxic spirit and stood on the hill and degened it to death with a long bow.
